About

We like beer. A lot.

In fact, a few of us liked it so much, we decided to brew it for a a living. A great job - getting paid in beer was pretty good too, at least until we needed to buy a house.

The Beer Observer is a collection of musings, reviews and otherwise shared experiences, all with one thing in common - beer. We enjoy the many beer industry news sites, beer education sites, and blogs run by fellow beer lovers. Our objective is less about explaining what makes a bock a doppel, but instead to share the experience of enjoying a great doppelbock in a unknown biker bar on the outskirts of Milwaukee.

Beer is a beverage for the people - there is nothing pretentious or contrived about it. You don't need a leather bound book and a corporate expense account to order one in a restaurant. It doesn't take 15 years to achieve its flavor. Its brewed around the world & tastes best when enjoyed locally. It dates back to the beginning of man.

Most importantly, its best when enjoyed with friends. Things happen, stories are shared, next thing you know the bar you were at and the beer you were drinking become integral parts of the tale, providing context for the ensuing events. The Beer Observer is our place online to connect with our beer friends and share those stories. If you'd like to write an article or become a regular blogger, contact us & we'll get you a barstool.

Prost!
